even in europe we have very different power cords - especially the end that connects to the power outlet. Did you ever compare a power cord made for let's say germany or france to the english version?

Look at the attachement, the lower picture right hand side is showing the computer end side - the other side on this picture must be for US.

yes its a C15 connector to whatever you need at the other end? into the wall or pdu or UPS
you do not need a PDU, but can keep things neater if its in a rack
