rp7410 installation & configuration

Hello colleagues,
I've received a new HP rp7410 and I have to configure it; I supposed to reboot it and to stop the automatic reboot then to choose the media to boot; I was surprised when I saw an interface requiring username and password!!!
Its says to be the management command interface; the prompt is "MP user"
Where can I find the user/password to log into the system???

Thanks a lot
Enrico

Re: rp7410 installation & configuration

Hi, you're logged into MP card. I think you have to enter

login: Admin
pass: Admin

And after this you can execute command

MP> co

in order to obtain system console.

Try it and let us know.

Best regards!

Re: rp7410 installation & configuration

Our rp7410 has a GSP with a default password of:

...ID:
...PW:

by "blank" I mean unset. Set to "blanks". just hit enter.

Re: rp7410 installation & configuration

Hi Stuart,

I don't think you have an rp7410, but more likely an rp7400. The 7410 comes out of the factory with MP - not GSP - as all cell-based system do and the user is predefined to be Admin & PW same. If it is truly a 7410, then someone had to set up a null user with a null PW, which I don't think can be done.

The easiest identifier is "Where are the internal drives located - in the front or back?"
7410 have them up front easily hot-swappable, whereas the 7400 has them in the back like the old N-class & they're harder to get at. The other clue is the DVD drive - 7410 up front & internal & the 7400 has NO provision for it internal - they have to be external in a smart enclosure.

Rgds,
Jeff
