I was wondering if there was a way to change the MP password without logging on first.I tried the reset button and it only reset the MP card it did not give me a chance to set it back to default.I know I can change it when I log in but I was wondering if there was a way to change it back to default if you forgot the user name and password.

Thanks in advance.

Re: rp7410

Hi Jon,

I believe you have two options.

Hold the reset button on the core io board for at least 5 second.

on local console, in the hpux prompt enter
# stty +resetGSP < /dev/GSPdiag1
'Press R to Reset GSP to default values'

Hope this helps,

Re: rp7410

hi john,

you will need a local console on the system and then press the reset button, holding for a short while then get back to the terminal quick. It displays an option to confirm reset to defualts only briefly and you have to be quick. It will reset all the options though not just the password.

this should do it for you.
