rp8400 boot failure
Hello,
This rp8400 boots perfectly well with HP-UX 11.23. No matter what I try, it won't boot on 11.11.
I have tried two versions (C.6.8.152 and C.6.9.150) of Ignite (CD boot with remote install, "lan install" and "boot client"), several versions of install CDs, and an OS built on another system (rp7400).
When I boot on an 11.23 WINSTALL ignite won't allow me to install 11.11.
Is there something that could be wrong with the hardware that could cause this?
When I attempt to boot from 11.11 it finds the kernel and starts to boot, sits there for over 20 minutes, then says:
"PC-offset Stack Trace (read across, top of stack is 1st):
End Of Stack"
Then it reboots.
The PDC firmware is at 17.008.
Here is an example:
=============================================
Main Menu: Enter command or menu > bo lan install
BCH Directed Boot Path: 0/0/0/1/0.0.0.0.0
Do you wish to stop at the ISL prompt prior to booting? (y/n) >> n
Initializing boot Device.
Boot IO Dependent Code (IODC) Revision 4
Boot Path Initialized.
HARD Booted.
ISL Revision A.00.44 Mar 12, 2003
ISL booting hpux KernelPrompt "Choose Operating System to Install :" 120 1
1. target OS is B.11.00
2. target OS is B.11.11
3. target OS is B.11.23 PA
4. Exit
Choose Operating System to Install :2
Boot
: lan(0/0/0/1/0;0)/boot/Rel_B.11.11/WINSTALL
12005376 + 2187352 + 2631488 start 0x201568
PC-Offset Stack Trace (read across, top of stack is 1st):
End Of Stack
=============================================
Regards,
Darren

Re: rp8400 boot failure
It was incompatible hardware in one of the PCI slots.
