rp8420 boot sequence
Hi All,
We have an rp8420 enclosure with a number of nPars.
I am currently looking for documentation that shows that if the PRI and the HAA paths are not found, the partition will automatically try and put from the ALT path.
Has anyone seen this happen in real life, or as I have witnessed the boot sequence keeps scrolling between PRI and HAA.
Are there some steps I am missing ?
Any links to doco would be fantastic.
Regards

Re: rp8420 boot sequence
Shalom,
You're read all of this?
http://docs.hp.com/en/hw.html#HP%209000%20rp8420%20Server
Just guessing but there must be something there.

Re: rp8420 boot sequence
Hi,
you should read the manpage of setboot - see
http://docs.hp.com/en/B2355-60103/setboot.1M.html
There is a table about the settings:
(locate "For the primary path, the boot action corresponds to the Autoboot and Autosearch flags in the following manner:")
The important settings for each path are
on failure try next path
or
on failure go to BCH.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
