rx2600 and a6826a

I am trying to install an A6826A fiber card into an RX2600.I have tried several cards and the system will not reconize them.I load the os 11.i ver 2 and the cards show up as unclaimed.I have upgraded the firmware on the machine to the latest rev.Has anyone come across this before?

It requires FibrChanl-01 driver. Have you installed it?

Yes it is installed.I can do a swlist and it shows the driver installed.

A stupid question have you tried #insf -e after replacing the card, if not pls try and check for any changes in the status...

Hi,

I have the correct driver loaded in my os but it still shows the card unclaimed.I can put these cards into a compaq windows environment and it works fine.I have seen it could be a firmware problem.I have downloaded the firmware and tried it but I cannot get it to complete.It keeps saying the efiutil file is not there but it is.Has anyone done this before and could give me detail instuctions on how to do this.I have followed the downloaded instructions from the web but I have had no luck.

Jon,

You might check the ROM version of the card. I've received FC cards that have no firmware installed on them, and got the same result you have now. You'll have to go through the EFI to see the version. Check this page:

Make sure you have System Fimrware (SFW) 2.21.

These cards work in an compaq machine with windows.Wouldn't that mean they came with firmware.Also my sytem has the latest firmware.

Any ideas why I get that error finding the efiutil file when it is loaded?How did you upgrade the firmware on your cards?

Thanks for your help.The problem was the firmware.The file I first downloaded came across corrupted that is why I kept getting that error.
