My rx7620 server can't boot and using mp>cm>ps command, it reports core cell has failure and is invaild:
HW status for Cell 1 : FAILURE DETECTED
Power status : on, 3.3V Module 1, VRM #9 OVER TEMP ALARM
Boot is blocked
PDH memory is shared
Processor Compatibility : OK
RIO cable status : connected
RIO cable connection physical location : PCI Domain 1
Core cell is INVALID
Attention Led is off
I really appreciate your input to fix this problem.
Thanks,
Shirley

Re: rx7620 core cell become invaild
Happened to someone already ...
I really doubt that there is anything you can do to "fix" the problem. The only way that I can see is to call HP and get them replace the cell.

I agree with Alex you need to open a case with HP and get this fixed.

Re: rx7620 core cell become invaild
there is a temperatur sensor between cells that blocks boot if temperature is greater than a certain valuesensor.
Check in the page 39 of this document:
http://docs.hp.com/en/A7027-96015/A7027-96015.pdf
to view if your environment room is in the value of humidity/temperature indicated.
If you think that server room is temperature-OK, so I would start a contact with Hp for further analysis.
Rgds,
Alex

Re: rx7620 core cell become invaild
after I got cell 1 failure with "VRM #9 OVER TEMP ALARM", I powered off this server for over 12 hours, after I powered on this server, I still see the same error. Is it possibile to run some commands to clear the status on cell 1 ? Because I think the server is not overheated.
Thanks,
Shirley

Solution0950-4123 $307.00
However, the problem may be with a sensor on the cell board. I would recommend placing a hardware support call. even if you didn't purchase support, most likely your system is still under warranty.

Re: rx7620 core cell become invaild
VRM stands for Voltage Regulator Module.
There are several of them on each cell board.
Good Luck - Tim
