serial port

i have hp server rp5400
in the back there is 3 small cables:console ,remote,ups

i want to installa a modem on the system where whould i plugged and how to configure it i cant see to start any where
please i would appreciate your help

The "remote" port is RS-232 with modem control, so that is where to start. The typical default would be 9600 baud 8 bits, 1 stop bit, and I think no parity. You could try a null modem cable to a PC with HyperTerm to test. It is configurable.
