speed of 9000/807s

Hi,

I've got a 9000/807s, looking to upgrade. Want to know what the speed of the PA-RISC processor in the 807s so I can size the replacement.

HP9000/807 (also called as F10) use a PA7000 RISC CPU which has a speed of 32MHz.

I'm not sure what an "807" is. Maybe the rest of the output from the model command would help. You can also use this little script to tell the cpuspeed you have currently:

HPUX=/stand/vmunix

MHZ=$(echo itick_per_tick/D \
| adb -k $HPUX /dev/kmem \
| tail -1 \
| awk '{print $2/10000}')
echo $MHZ

HP 9000/807 also known as hte F10.
These are VERY old systemns, and upgrades (if available) will not be cheap.
The system is not supported on HP-UX 11i, if I recall.
It was a 32Mhz PA-Risc 1.1a PA7000 processor.

You might be far better off buying a newer system.

The idea IS to replace the unit. Looks like a B or C class workstation will fit the bill (order of magnatude improvement).
