Re: superdome addition cpu
You need the add additional cellboards. Each cellboard can have 4 cpu.
In the configuration you have now.

Re: superdome addition cpu
As you superdome has 4 cell boards and each cell board is capable of having 4 CPUs, as of now you cant add any CPUs.
You may consider adding a Cellboard along with CPU and Menory to the server.
With Regards,
Siva.

I thought 4 cell is blank and so just add cpu.
So, it has to be added cell and cpu.how many cpu and cell are possible to add?

Re: superdome addition cpu
Your soperdome can take 8 cellboards.
Already there are 4 cellboards installed. So you can add 4 additional cellboards each carrying 4 cpu. This mean you can dubble your server.

p.s try to make it 350 of 350
I have assigned points to 250 of 350 responses to my questions.

Re: superdome addition cpu
You don't mention whether this is a PA-RISC or Itanium 'Dome...BUT...I suspect it's Itanium simply due to the CPU clock speeds.
Now, the dual core Itanium cell boards aren't out yet, I believe. But if they were you'd have free CPU sockets on those cell boards.
So as it stands now to add more CPU you *will* have to add cell board(s) - up to 4 more - to get to the max CPU count of 32.
When the dual-core boards are available you'll be able to get up to 64 CPUs in a single cabinet.
It should be noted that dual-core PA-RISC cell boards are available now that would allow 32 CPUs on just 4 cells.
Rgds,
Jeff

Re: superdome addition cpu
Please read carefully.
You still can add atleast 16 cpu.
Only to add this cpu's you have to add new cellboards in the system without changing any kind of cellboards.
If you want more then 32 cpu in your superdome you have to change the cellboards which can take dualcore pa-risk cpu. then your superdome can take to 64 cpu.

Re: superdome addition cpu
To add cpu and cell, it has to be changed into another backplane.
