Has anyone ever experience a system crashing after performing an lpstat -o.

This is very unlikely.
There are so many other processes running.

Locate the crash dump and get it analyzed.

Very strange, I will also suggest you to log a call with hp and send the crash dump for analyse then only you will get the exect error why the system crash.

Check the /etc/shutdown file if there is a system panic. If there is, check the /var/tombstones/ts99 file to verify if this panic is caused by a hardware panic. If it ia a hardware panic, the ts99 will contain valid registers and timestamp. If it is a valid ts99 file, report to HP for analysis to be done. Otherwise, we will have to analyse the coredump located in /var/adm/crash directory.
