Re: system rebooting intermittently - PDC ERROR LOGs

Hi,

This is the best time to utilize your support contract and get the dump and crash logs analyzed. It seems to be a hardware issue and only analyzing the logs can help to find out the defective component.

Re: system rebooting intermittently - PDC ERROR LOGs

Hi,

Check ts99 in tombstones.

Also I guess that "system blocked/waiting for input" looks like a alert light is on in the front panel. So check that too.

I guess you have a serious H/W problem, better call HP locally.

Re: system rebooting intermittently - PDC ERROR LOGs

Hi,

I do not think that this is a hardware problem:

ALERT LEVEL: 12 = Software failure
...
CALLER ACTIVITY: B = system panic STATUS: 0

This error comes when HPUX has paniced (OK, a system panic can also be caused by hardware ...).
Check the panic sting in /etc/shutdownlog and let the crash dump in /var/adm/crash be analyzed by HP support.
Sometimes it is also helpful to check the console log (GSP "cl" command) for additional errors shortly before the panic happened.

best regards

Stefan
