upgrating the ram

You would need to purchase either more or larger SIMMS than you have now. Generally, the purchase includes installation by your local HP CE and that's all there is to it.

Few months ago with a HP support engineer
We replaced some rams from my one hp-ux box
to another.We did not buy new ram just replaced but i can only suggest;try to buy
original Hp ram

Increasing RAM is not a hard. If you now what you have in your server (how many SIMMS, of wich size) try to complete to go to the size you want.

RAM must be inserted in a particular way (order of slots filling) and by pairs. But it's well explained in docs, and there's a schema on the server itself.

Once you're done, don't forget to incrase SWAP to what it must be.

You will need to know how many memory modules you currently have installed on the system. stm will display how many modules you have installed. It will also tell you their size, and which slots they are installed on. Finally stm will tell you how many slots you have open, so you will know how much memory you can add to the system with replacing existing memory with bigger modules.
