for eg how these components interact and what steps happen in the booting procedure
basically function of PDC,BCH,LIF,ISL,hpux etc
the lower level routines before the kernel is loaded
I couldnt find much description in docs.hp.com documents
I am a solaris person.its quite straightforward in solaris-just bootblk,ufsboot or inetboot.thats all.but hp-ux is more complicated
Can anyone suggest a reading or white paper on this

SolutionTHE hp-ux reference for booting (pdc, isl, etc) can be found at this location :
www.itrc.com, on the left : HP products, knowledge tree, HP-UX Software Recovery Handbook, choose the chapter 2 : Chapter 02 - System Boot and you will see that all is explained !!!
