Issue with Citrix XenServer 5.6
Kumar was looking for info on G7 baldes supporting Citrix XenServer 5.6:
**********************
Hi team,
We have HP BL460c G7 with VirtualConnect Flex10 Module configured with latest firmware. When we try installing Citrix XenServer 5.6 for VDI on the blade, it fails throwing an error message Ethernet adapter not found and goes for a reboot. When checked with the log file it shows that Network driver not found.
Kindly provide the solution for the same from the past experience.
Thanks & Regards

Carl responded:

The support matrix shows you need 5.6 FP1 for G7 support. Likely the NIC drivers are not in the 5.6 base version.

Thanks Mr. Carl, but 5.6 FP1 doesn't support for Citrix VDI. They support only 5.6 base version. This has been verified by Citrix Team also.

Karl answered:

In that case you can download the 5.6 driver from citrix - does not require FP1.

either way, you can't use the G7 without an updated driver.

Now Jimmy jumped in:

One of the new options when installing XenServer 5.6 FP1 is in the storage section. There is an option that states "[ ] Enable thin provisioning (Optimized for XenDesktop)" With XenDesktop being the Citrix VDI solution I'd think FP1 is supported for VDI

Any other comments or suggestions? Are you using this OS and blades G7 combination?
