Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) and Blade Firmware Tool Revision Support

Allan was looking for some SPP release support info:

If I’m  a not mistaken, each new SPP Release is good for approx.. 1 year.

When we gather a customer’s show all outputs and run it thru the Jar Tool then the Blade Firmware Tool it generates a very nice report. I need to explain to a customer how far back HP supports an SPP. What criteria does the Show All / Blade Firmware Tool utilize to determine what is supported and what is off support? ID it based on 3 Releases back? 1 Release back?

If a customer or HP applied this SPP Version:  Example:  SPP 2012.08.0 shows an End of Support date of September 30, 2013 for that Release? If there was an issue with these systems I assume HP would tell the customer to update to the latest SPP before proceeding with any further troubleshooting.

I appreciate any feedback as always.

The Blade Firmware Tool does indeed use the SPP End of Support date to determine the remaining support period.

As you probably already know, the best place to find that information is the SPP release notes.
