534FLB adapter FCoE/ Xenserver question
Asen was working with a customer and Citrix:
**************
Hello, guys,
I have a customer with the BL460c gen8 blades in an enclosure with VC Flex Fabric Interconnects with the following issue:
The physical functions of the cards are not visible – the client only sees the nics but not the “hba” links.
Is there a way to make the FCoE functions visible to the OS?
FYI – the VC modules are both running the required 4.10 version and the firmware on the cards has already been updated.
We are not looking at a hardware defect since the same servers and cards are working normally under ESXi 5.5 with the “fcoe nic list” and “fcoe nic discover –n” commands
The documentation is also a bit deceiving in regards to the OS support
According to the quickspecs the card supports XenServer but our document:
HP ProLiant Gen8 Servers - Supported Operating Systems for Broadcom-Based CNAs in SAW
The quickspecs of the 534flb card state otherwise.
Thank you in advance for your responses
Best wishes

Input from Angel:
************
HP FlexFabric 10Gb 2-port 534FLB Adapter only supports Ethernet physical function with Citrix XenServer 6.0. It does not support iSCSI nor FCoE physical functions.
Also, if you visit the HP support page for 534FLB Citrix XenServer does not appear as a supported operating systems.
534FLB QuickSpecs document incorrectly states that it support Citrix XenServer 6.0 (only Ethernet function, not iSCIS, not FCoE).
