Re: About BL870i split to bl860i

You would have to shutdown the BL870c i2, remove the 2-blade Blade Link module from its front face, and replace it with two single-blade Blade Link modules (part number AD399-60002), one for each individual blade.

The User Service Guide has information on installing and removing Blade Links:

Re: About BL870i split to bl860i

This was discussed earlier, but I don't remember the exact result.

IMHO it is possible from a technical point of view, but you will get in trouble.

You currently have a single server with a single serial number and a single contract/warranty.

Do this from OA:

OA> SHOW SERVER NAMES

If you now "split" this server, you will create a "non-existant" server with no or invalid serial numbers, so what about your contracts/warranty?

You should discuss this with your sales contact.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
