BL2x220G6 not supported in c3000 enclosure
Ramu had a c3000 question:
***************************************************************************************************************
Can anyone reply why BL2x220G6 is not supported in c3000?
**************************************************************************************************************
Lauren had a great response:
**********************************************************************************************************
The BL2X220 is supported is some c3000 configurations. There was a midplane change in the c3000 that inhibits some configurations of the BL2X220 to be supported. In order for the ProLiant BL2x220c G6 server to function as designed when configured in the HP BladeSystem c3000 Enclosure:
1. Do not use SATA Hard Drives. Instead, use Solid State Drives (SSD) or use PXE boot.
2. Do not use the Quad Data Rate Infiniband (QDR IB) Mezzanine Card. Instead, use a Double Data Rate (DDR) IB configuration or do not use Infiniband.

Does this help? Any issues? Comments?

Re: BL2x220G6 not supported in c3000 enclosure
Hello,
Regarding this configuration, I checked c3000 and the respective Blade 2x220c G6 and G7 Quick specs but information is either contradicting or incomplete.
Blade c3000 Enclosure QuickSpecs here.
The c3000 enclosure is 6U and holds up to 8 HP c-Class server blades:
Up to 8 half-height server blades (examples: HP ProLiant BL280c G6, BL2x220c G7, BL460c G7/Gen8, BL465c G7, BL490c G7 Server Blades)
Blade BL2x220c G6 Enclosure QuickSpecs here.
The BL2x220c G6 is not supported in the c3000 enclosure.
Blade BL2x220c G6 Enclosure QuickSpecs here.
The BL2x220c G7 is not supported in the c3000 enclosure.
Blade BL2x220c Guided Troubleshooting here.
GT also says that "BL2x220c G6 and G7 are not supported in c3000 enclosure."
The message from Lauren regarding the configuration, it is not available in any of the Quickspecs. Is this information available/documented from HP?
I work for HPE.
