Disk Performance Problem HP ProLiant BL460c

Hi everyone:

We have a performance problem with this server copiying files. The behaivor is that at the beginning the process goes 50MB/s but after 5seconds stucks the process varing between 2MB/s and 1MB/s.

The disks are (in Raid1) WD5000BEVT-0 Western Digital and the Storage Controller is Smart Array e200 over WS2012R2

Below im describing the steps that i follow with no luck.

-Update BIOS.

-Update Smart Array E200 Firmware.

-Changing the Disks the performance is normal.

-CHKDSK /R/F/B: With no errors.

-WD Diagnostic Tool with no errors.

-HD tune, with no errors.

So o think is an incomplatiblity betweeen Storage controller and disk but i dont know how to solve it.

Can anybody help me?

thanks in advance.

regards.

Re: Disk Performance Problem HP ProLiant BL460c

hi

i am sure your OS is windows.

it shows you extremely high values at the beginning and then slows down to the real data rate after some seconds.

i think your problem is as follows:

- you do a copy of files on the same disk

- your data are fragmented, or your data are comprised of small files

so nothing is wrong with your hardware.
