HP NC551 network adapter does not have a WinPE 3.0 x86 compatible driver ?

A customer tried to deploy BL465c over SCCM OS Deployment

According to the “ Release Notes for HP ProLiant Server OS Deployment for Configuration Manager 2007 (Version: 1.40) :

“Deploying Windows 2003 x86 or Windows 2008 x86 to ProLiant BL465c G7 or ProLiant BL685c G7 fails  The HP NC551 network adapter does not have a WinPE 3.0 x86 compatible driver. Install a different, supported mezzanine network adapter, set it as the PXE NIC, and then retry the deployment”

Hi Marc,

You can find the appropriate WinPE drivers for the BE2 chip in the latest Smart Start Scripting Toolkit.

www.hp.com/go/foundation à download à SSTK à choose 32-bit or 64-bit

Extract the package, you will find the driver under C:\SPxxxxx\hpDrivers\WinpeXX\NIC\be2nd6X.
