HP SUM 6.2 on Windows stores the DB in user temp directory...

Hi,

I've been trying to use HP SUM 6.2 on windows but there seems to be no way to install it?

If you run the hpsum.bat it launches two exe's and creates the database in the users temp dir.

This has been an issue as when the user logs off the database and any settings are deleted...

Does anyone have a work around for this?

So much for HP popping in and helping!

With the HPSUM.BAT file and the Windows Server 2003 Recourse kit, I created a HPSUM service.  I am now using a HPSUM service account which runs this service.

I also ran a search and found a HPSUM.ini file where I amended the the Engine Directory:

[Engine]
temp_dir=C:/HPSUM/
mode=release
use_http=false

The DB is now being saved in C:\HPSUM and seems to be staying put, even when the services are terminated and restarted!

Not sure what "Mode" does... Would be be nice to get a reply from HP or someone who know HP SUM a bit more than I do.

Thanks

N

This is a peer to peer forum, not an official HP support site.
Have you tried contacting the HPSC?
