Hi there,
I have a c7000 enclosure with OA at firmware Version 3.70 Oct 01 2012
A few days ago we started getting these errors where the power system is reporting that it is Redundancy. Here are the entries from the OA log:
Dec 2 11:47:51 OA: PS Subsystem N + N Redundancy - FAILED. Allocated Power: 4877W DC, Present Power: 2468W AC.
Dec 2 11:47:51 OA: Enclosure Status changed from OK to Degraded. (Power Subsystem)
Dec 2 11:47:51 OA: PS Subsystem N + N Redundancy - REPAIRED
Dec 2 11:47:51 OA: Enclosure Status changed from Degraded to OK.
Dec 2 11:47:51 OA: PS Subsystem N + N Redundancy - FAILED. Allocated Power: 4877W DC, Present Power: 2468W AC.
Dec 2 11:47:51 OA: Enclosure Status changed from OK to Degraded. (Power Subsystem)
Dec 2 11:47:51 OA: PS Subsystem N + N Redundancy - REPAIRED
Dec 2 11:47:51 OA: Enclosure Status changed from Degraded to OK.
Dec 2 18:41:31 OA: PS Subsystem N + N Redundancy - FAILED. Allocated Power: 4877W DC, Present Power: 3375W AC.
Dec 2 18:41:31 OA: Enclosure Status changed from OK to Degraded. (Power Subsystem)
Dec 2 18:41:31 OA: PS Subsystem N + N Redundancy - REPAIRED
Dec 2 18:41:31 OA: Enclosure Status changed from Degraded to OK.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

Re: OA: PS Subsystem N + N Redundancy - REPAIRED
Your enclosure is configured to be N + N redundant, or in other words, it can lose half of its power inputs or PSU modules without a service interruption.
The "Redundancy FAILED" message means the enclosure has lost enough power inputs or PSU modules that it cannot sustain all the services any more. Apparently your enclosure would need 4877W in its current configuration, but for a while, there was only 2468W available. Since there are no reports on PSU failures, this suggests there might have been a problem with some of the power circuits feeding the enclosure. Do the times of the errors match any known external events, like power brown-outs?
