Question about Hyperthreading in blades
Mary-Ann had a server question:
******************
Sorry to spam, but could someone help me with a customer’s question regarding “configuration for hyper-threading and soft NUMA configuration” in relation to Intel Proliant Blades? Thank you
*********************
Eugen replied:
*****************
By default Hyper threading is enabled on the Blades.
From the G/ version onwards it should be no issues at all to use hyperthreading in virtual environments, however depending on the application and on the OS it could decrease the performance of the server.
I would install the box as is, disable hyperthreading and, if all components of the installation support this, and more power is needed, I would enable it.

Any other input or comments for Mary-Ann?
