c7000 with x86 blades for Redhat 5.6 - boot from SAN - how to disable scan of internal SAS disks

Bart had a Boot_From_SAN (BFS) question:

*******************

While we are working here on c7000 with i2 HP-UX installed blades, our customer is experimenting with x86 blades in their c7000 enclosures.

The customer wants to boot from SAN and we are trying to find how to bypass a boot attempt on the local SAS disks (which seems to be the default check at bootup). Apparently the customer sees no other way then to unplug the local disks. Is there another way to obtain this?

Info from Arnout:

You can go into the ROM-Based Setup Utility (RBSU) and set the bootorder to first boot from the HBA port1, then port2 and then the internal SA controller.

Or you can just disable the internal SA controller by putting its IRQ to disabled.

Thanks Arnout – the customer successfully changed the boot order and  booted directly from the SAN controller.
