c7000 Fibre Channel Pass-Thru firmware update?
Dean had a Fibre Channel Pass-Thru question:
**************************
Can anyone comment on upgrading firmware of the Fibre Channel Pass-Thru module?
My customer is up-to-date on the latest Onboard Administrator firmware, but rack firmware view indicates there is an update available for the FC Passthru.
I don’t see any downloads available for this module on hp.com; and updating the OA obviously didn’t update it.
Was this supposed to be updated automatically with the OA, or was there supposed to be a prompt during OA update?
Any guidance or suggestions would be appreciated.

Bill answered:

You need to use the COmmand Line Interface (cli) to connect to the Onboard Administrator. You can then perform an “update show” to see what needs to be updated.
The command to perform the actual update is “update device icbay Xa”, with the X equal to which IC bay you are upgrading.
Don’t forget the lower case ‘a’ at the end of the command. This only takes a couple of minutes.

Dean,
The procedure is described in the following customer advisory:
You have to run an update command from the OA cli.
OA>"update device ic bay 3a"
Its well-described in the advisory.

Any other questions or comments?
