How to configure Networking BL460c / FlexFabric

Hey,

i am new here and i have the following problem:

environment:

c7000 enclosure with 1 flexfabric modul

2 BL460c G7 Servers with Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 Core Server

P4500 multi-san iscsi

problem:

i have 5 VLANs (4 VLANs must be connected to the physical server, 2 VLANs must be available for the VMs - 1 VLAN is connected to the physical and virtual environment) which i must connect to the servers. on the servers we will create a hyper-V cluster.

How can i configure this environment? I have tried different solution but with no success.

I hope that i can found here a solution.

Regards

Uwe

Re: How to configure Networking BL460c / FlexFabric

the question is too "big" to answer but I'd suggest you take a look at these two docs for starting point.

Cookbook: Flexfabric http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02616817/c02616817.pdf

Cookbook: iSCSI http://bizsupport1.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c02533991/c02533991.pdf

For VC, there are two components, network layer and server profile layer. config network first according to cookbook and then server profile. if you have specific question, you can post so we can try to help.

After so much testing, it works now.

I had to update the bios of the blades and the nics. After that i had to use the newest nic driver and the newest ncu.

thanks for the update. it looks like most of issues are related with firmware/driver. For that, make sure you understand HP SPP firmware/driver bundle going forward. you can get pretty much all latest firmware/driver/utility/tools from single .iso all all proliant/bladesystem components. This is HP's firmware/driver strategy going forward.
