Troubleshooting Vmnic Link Failure Proliant BL460c G7 Hypervisor ESXi5.5
I had a situation where one of the VMINC's serving the management console had come up in a failed state after reboot.
Customer Environment is C7000 chassis with VC Flex 10 intercconects. Now all the other VSwicthes in the cluster were fine so I had a strong suspicion this was a nuisance failure. A reboot would have most probably fixed tis problem ,however the host in question was hosting a Storevirtual- so not an ideal situation to shutdown disk to fix such a trivial fault.
I decided to find an alternative way to fix the fault, attached is a detailed process to identify and fix such a fault.

Are you able to check de Virtual Connect LogFile. Login to the VCM WebGUI and look at te logfile in the left colum.
If there is a link swapping on this logfile you have to look at VC or the external switch.
Be sure that the recommended firmware and drivers are loaded.
