C7000 - USB hardlock virtualization

Hi everyone,

I have vmware installed in one enclosure c7000 with 8 full-height blades. And i want to virtualize four servers that have usb hardlocks.

I recently, have tested a Sharkoon USB LANPORT 400, but doesn't work with hardlocks.

Someone know a method to virtualize this?

Thanks in advance.

Nuno

Re: C7000 - USB hardlock virtualization

Hi,

Try connecting directly to the Host through blade front port dongle and follow the steps as per below article: which allows to configure USB passthrough, but it has limitations on these configuration which you can find in the article.

http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=1022290

Check with the Sharkoon USB LANPORT 400 if it supports all the device types as there could some limitation in device support, another solution which vmware certified is USB Anywhere try checking on these.

Thanks,

Jagadish
