BL460c G6 SSD Performance

Dropped a couple of Samsung Pro SSD drives into a mirrored set on a G6.  Performance in the trash.  4k read/write is painful.  Tested another G1 server with a non samsung SSD drive and it had 4x the performance.  Of course Samsung is of no assistance and is blaming the server.  Outstanding questions are:

   *  Anyone aware of why this could be happening

   * Where can I find a list of compatible SSD drives and their specs

   * Any way to upgrade a G6 to have SATA III I/0

   * What are your general thoughts surrounding this

HP servers don't support non-HP branded hard drives/SSD drives.
The HP ones are much more expensive, but I think it would drastically improve performance.

As RbBsmn mentioned, using non HP add on devices is likely the cause of your server's poor performance. You can upgrade to SATA - below are the HP SSDs that are compatible. If you haven't update teh firmware on the disk controller. I've seen this fix performance issues
