C7000 G2 & BL460c G6 Blade firmware upgrade

Hi All,

wonder if you can help - I want to firmware update the blade enclosure, interconnect bays and blades (its never been done since its been in!)

Can anyone point me in the direction on how to go about doing it? If I update the enclosure, does that contain firmware for all the other devices?

in the C7000 I have:

2x OA

2x 1Gb Etheternet Pass-through Modules

1x B-Series 8/24c SAN Switch

All the blades are BL460c G6 models with a QLogic 8gb FC HBA

You should do the following steps:

- update the drivers on the servers
(install the SPP bundles)
- update the blade firmware by booting from SPP 02.2013
(if using vMedia, update the ILO first in a separate step)
- update the OA
(either from SPP or downloaded *.bin file)
- update the pass thru from OA CLI
- update the switches
(separate firmware download from web)

ive found the SPP download 2013.02 and am downloading it now, however not sure what you mean by SPP bundles?

You can start "hpsum" from SPP, this will find all needed bundles on the servers.

Where do you find the firmware update?  I feel like I am in an endless loop just finding the update.
