Connect MSA1000 to c7000 with "Brocade 4Gb SAN Switch for HP c-Class BladeSystem" or Cisco MDS 9124e
hi All:
Can I connect MSA1000 to c7000 with "Brocade 4Gb SAN Switch for HP c-Class BladeSystem" or Cisco MDS 9124e without any external SAN switch? By default, what's the port types of the uplink ports of blade SAN switch? Can I change the port type to F-Port?
Thanks
Best Regards
Winston

Yes, you can connect MSA1000 directly to external ports of c7000 SAN switches. By default port types are U-ports (universal). Yes, you can force F-port negotiation on a port, but it's usually needed only if device connected to a port does not auto-negotiate, or you don't want loop devices connected to your switch.
