c3000, BL490c g7, 2xFlex10, LOM+Mezz - where is iSCSI HBA on Mezz?

Hello Community,

We have c3000 enclosure, with 4 servers inside, in srv bay 1 and 2 BL460c G6 installed, srv bay 3 and 4 BL490c G7 installed.

Every server has additionally NC553m Mezzanine card in Mezz Slot1. Additionally 2 VC Flex-10 modules installed in interconnect bay 1 and 2.

As storage we are using MSA2312i storage system

Now when we do configuration via Virtual Connect Manager we can see iSCSI HBAs on old server on Mezzanine card but can’t get same result on new servers

The idea is to link HBA on LOM to VC1 and link HBA on Mezzanine to VC2 and get redundancy for storage system of course with offloading iSCSI from CPU to LOM/Mezzanine card (meaning only new server as old ones does not support iSCSI offload on LOM)

Please see attached pictures with port mapping configuration on old and new server

Any suggestion why this happening and why we can’t use HBA on Mezzanine on new server?

What are your firmware levels?  OA/VC/Server (Specifically the CNA's)?

Re: c3000, BL490c g7, 2xFlex10, LOM+Mezz - where is iSCSI HBA on Mezz?

after firmware update i can add Mezz to list of HBAs but to do this i need add fist other LOMs

the idea is to use one flex nic from LOM linked to VC1 in bay1 and as use it as HBA for iSCSI traffic and another flex nic from Mezz linked to another VC2 in bay

so if one of the VCs fails or LOM/Mezz fails i will still have hardware accelerated connection to the storage system

i can't understand the logic behind this problem

I'm not really sure if I did understand your problem, but just for your information:

 - iSCSI on CNAs must be enabled in BIOS (you can switch between FCoE or iSCSI)

 - the connection from interconnects and LOM / Mezzanine is documented in following document:
