Vital partnerships bring Everything-as-a-Service to reality
HPE South Africa is on a transformational journey to bring our vision of Everything-as-a-Service into reality. We plan to make sure the whole of our portfolio is service enabled by the end of 2021. Our partner community plays a pivotal role in our transformation, as together we provide solutions to meet customers’ needs. Now, more than ever, our channel is critical to our success.
Reflecting on our FY20 Partner Awards, it’s clear that in a challenging year, impacted primarily by the devastating effects of COVID-19 on people’s health and the economy, the resilience of our channel community ensured we finished the year strong.
The following critical growth areas are at the centre of our joint success.
Everything as a Service: ‘Cloudifying’ The Customer Experience
In 2021, we are looking to take advantage of the cloud opportunity that exists in the South African market, as we ‘cloudify’ experiences for our customers. The cloud experience applies to all customer segments, regardless of size. Our partners are pivotal for us to achieve this.
Late in 2020, the IDC annual public cloud services tracker* predicted a jump in cloud revenue from $819M to $1,019M from 2020 to 2021. This represents a massive cloud services opportunity for HPE and our partners as we leverage ‘The Cloud that comes to you’ solutions anchored by HPE GreenLake. HPE GreenLake takes a modern approach to digital transformation, allowing faster innovation, increased efficiency and cost savings in a flexible, scalable and agile ‘pay as you go’ model.
We will be investing in co-location partnerships to provide our customers the cloud-like experience, hosted at a neutral datacentre or on-premise. The investment will also include collaboration opportunities based on real projects as we provide the necessary support, specialists and expertise to transform our joint customers.
Our partners are already helping us to transform the tech landscape of our customers. Over 90% of our ‘as-a-Service’ (aas) revenue in FY20 was achieved via the channel, in a market where we have witnessed a growth of 198% aaS revenue growth, year on year. This demonstrates the significant increasing appetite of customers who are looking to shift their tech solutions to aaS.
HPE Nimble Storage dHCI: A Nimble All-Flash Storage Game-Changer
One of the most exciting opportunities for our partners at the moment is an ability to leverage the HPE install base, transforming our customers’ capabilities by positioning our HPE Nimble Storage dHCI – disaggregated hyperconverged infrastructure. With the simplicity of hyperconverged along with speed and resiliency, this solution provides synergies for our partners giving the opportunity to attach our HPE Nimble storage portfolio to our HPE ProLiant servers – a concept we call ‘one plus one equals three’. This is a compelling case for any existing HPE ProLiant customer, offering flexibility, resiliency and unmatched performance.
HPE ProLiant – The Compute Opportunity
The HPE ProLiant platform is a tried and tested solution for many of our South African customers. As we transform this offering into a cloud-like consumption, we are also investing to help large and small organisations. HPE Superdome Flex servers offer aaS capabilities, providing modular, customisable compute platforms, ready for distribution within 48hrs. Modernising applications and accelerating innovation, HPE Superdome Flex servers grow seamlessly with the organisation, with off-the-shelf products efficiently scaling up to match developing requirements and demands. This revolutionary offer is completely unrivalled by our competitors. Our distribution partners hold a number of options in stock, and customised quotes are available.
With digital transformation gaining momentum, HPE continues to drive innovation alongside our expert partners, ensuring our joint customers benefit from the right solutions on their transformation journey.
