HP Discover day 2 wrap-up

on ‎06-06-2012 12:53 AM

Whether you’re joining us at HP Discover in Vegas, or simply following the show virtually, you can get a perspective on the day’s events from HP Software’s team of expert bloggers, Paul Muller, Christian Verstraete and Rafal Los in their daily wrap-up videos.

For Tuesday, the three were joined by Nelson Chang, principal scientist at HP Labs, who talked about the HP Labs Photon Engine: really cool 3D technology that creates experiences so immersive it’s just like being there. The Photon Engine uses polarization to create 3D images (similar to the 3D you see in movie theaters); but a key difference is the ability to create 3D displays of size, shape or resolution. The research has applications for everything from entertainment to oil and gas exploration. If you’re at the show, be sure to stop by the HP Labs Pavilion to see the technology in action. Or visit HP Labs online.

If you were following the opening keynotes this morning, you know that DreamWorks Animation featured prominently as an example of an HP customer pushing the boundaries of technology. Rafal and Christian give their takes, adding new information from the angles of security and cloud.

There are more videos, blogs and feeds from HP Discover at HP Backstage, so be sure to check it out.
