2C12D TO 2C14D

i want to upgrade my existing 2C12D TO 2C14 by adding additional 2 disk enclosures.

Whcih posistion this 2 new disk enclsoures needs to be installed ???
Can i install this 2 new enclsoure in 15 and 18 ????

also what is the best practises for keeping bays empty in 17 and 20 enclosres??

Hi,
1. you need to populize each disk enclosure with minimum of 1 disk
2. disk placement rules when adding an expansion cabinet:

Hi,

You don't say what model EVA you're talking about... However the Hardware Configuration Guide should help.

HP appear to have removed these from their website for some reason, but you can find a copy of the EVA3/5000 version here:

hi,
we have eva 8100. in tis case in which address this 2 disk enclosure should be connected ??? is it ok to connect one in 15 and another in 18 for load balancing betwen the controllers ??

hi, it's not really about load balancing the controllers, more balancing the loops. On the 8000 you would need to use shelf id 15 and 18 if you are going to fill the enclosures, 16,17,19 and 20 could not use the last three bays. not sure if this applies to the 8100. are these going into a second rack? If so you will need the EAB expansion also.
