Hi
I have an old EVA4000 with 2C4D configuration and 1 DG, for some reason I found out 5 disks that are in a failed state, I have replace one, for now, the in command view eva, its shown as leveling, and it looks like is going to take hours if not days until that leveling is 100% status.
Can I replace anothe disk? or should I wait until the leveling is done? How can I view if the failed disks belong to the same RSS?

Re: 5 disks failed on EVA
If a disk in an EVA fails, the array starts to reconstruct and get redundant again as long as there is enough free space.
So if there is enough space and "enough" time between disk failures, your array will be fully redundant after the disks failures.
A failed disk is no longer part of a RSS group.
Replace all the disks and group them all at once.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: 5 disks failed on EVA
As for storage capacity, I have the following:
Total: 10102.35 GB
Used: 9115.86 GB
Available: 986.49 GB
I have already replace 1, and leveling is a 6%. Shall I go ahead and replace the remaining 4?

Re: 5 disks failed on EVA
If you see "reconstruct" you need to wait. Don't wait for leveling.
Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: 5 disks failed on EVA
At the Conditional/State, header I see:
Operational state: Atention
Leveling state: In progress
Leveling progress: 9% leveled
RSS Disk state: none

SolutionReplace the disks now, select the DG and group the new available disks all at once. So the EVA needs to do a single leveling but not level 5 times.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: 5 disks failed on EVA
Does the leveling process slows down the servers with file systems on the EVA?

Re: 5 disks failed on EVA
If you select one of these disks now, you should see the occupancy level growing.
Hope this helps!

Torsten.
