A Storage System Virtual Disk has completed the Cache Flush operation
Hi
I've noticed recently that in the Controller Event Log that the above message has come up. But, it says no corrective action is required. Am just wondering if anyone else has with EVA4400 has seen this and why it would occur? Also noticed that at the same time, the log file shows that some vDisks have transitioned to the other controller, and again no corrective action is required. From experience with EMC arrays, a LUN would trespass (transition) to non-default SP when it has issues using that path. Can anyone tell me why in EVA a vDisk would transition and not flag an issue?

Re: A Storage System Virtual Disk has completed the Cache Flush operation
A vdisk on the EVA will transition to the other controller if more than 2/3 of the read traffic is coming through the proxy-controller (the controller that is not the owner of that vdisk).
To keep this from happening set a preferred path on your hosts' multipath configuration.
For this reason it may not best to use round-robin on the EVAs.
Instead try to divide the vdisks between the controller (set preferred failover mode on each vdisk) and accordingly set the preferred path on the hosts.
