A question for MSA2000 SATA HDD frimware ..
Hello everyone..
In the hyperlink , HP StorageWorks MSA2000 SN05 firmware
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=us&prodTypeId=12169&prodSeriesId=3687115&swItem=co-65998-1&prodNameId=3687119&swEnvOID=1005&swLang=13&taskId=135&mode=4&idx=1
It says "The newer firmware for MSA2000 SATA HDD can fix a lot of issues. "
This only affects the HP StorageWorks MSA2000fc, MSA2000i, and any attached disk enclosures with the following HP SATA hard drives running firmware SN04 or earlier:
HP StorageWorks MSA2 500GB 7.2K 3.5-inch SATA HDD ST3500320NS AJ738A 480940-001
HP StorageWorks MSA2 750GB 7.2K 3.5-inch SATA HDD ST3750330NS AJ739A 480941-001
HP StorageWorks MSA21000GB 7.2K 3.5-inch SATA HDD ST31000340NS AJ740A 480942-001
I find a new firmware version "K" that is different from any listed version on the HP Public Web .
I can't flash SN05 instead of "K" . ( Attached file )
"K" may be not equal or earlier to SN04 .
Do you know what "K" is ?
Thank you !!

Re: A question for MSA2000 SATA HDD frimware ..
Dear Taohung,
Any solution for your case?
coz .. it's similar to my story.. see my attachment file also..
for MSA2012fc, on the hp web public, the latest firmware hdd is SN06 (10 feb 2009) with the file "MSE750SN06.lod" and previous versions of SN05 (31 OCT 2008) with the file "MSE750SN05.lod".
I found the error message "Firmware Update Error" when trying to update the firmware on the disk drive MSA2012fc single controller.. using the firmware file ver. "MSE750SN06.lod" for 750 GB ATA HDD ST3750640NS.
agree with you, I found that the firmware version in my existing configuration is "K" which is different from any version listed on the HP Public Web ..
Dear all,
and now my question is:
1. Whether the "K" firmware version in my existing configuration is the latest firmware for now?? If so, where can i get the official document/whitepaper for it??
but, if not the latest firmware, then, where I can get the latest firmware?
2. Is it any different metode for updating disk drive firmware on my MSA2012fc beside through MSA SMU & CLI?? if so, where can i get the official document/whitepaper for it??
3. also i found on hp public web.. "Online ROM Flash Component for Windows - ST3750330NS drive".. what does it stand for?? does it similar with "MSE750SN06.lod" or ""MSE750SN05.lod" firmware file?? and why, i can't find to get the correct file for my 750 GB ATA HDD (ST3750640NS)??
need help guys,
so many tk's in advanced..
best regards,
markum
