AD300A latest firmware

Hi,

I've different Itanium systems running HPUX 11.31. They have installed many HBAs model AD300A. I'm checking if there is a newer version for them.

I've seen that there are many versions:
a) EFI driver, RISC firmware and EFI utility for QLogic ISP24xx based 4Gb fibre channel adapters EFI 1.09 / RISC 4.00.90

b) Multiboot Image for QLogic FC HBAs and Mezzanine Cards 1.76af-2.08 BIOS/2.04 EFI

The firmware version running right now in the HBAs is EFI 1.09 / RISC 4.00.90 . My question is : what does Multiboot Image mean? Does it apply to my environment? What funcionalities does it apply?

As you can read in the readme:

1. OS Support

This version of BIOS supports MS DOS, Windows 2000, Windows Server 2003,
Windows XP Professional, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Novell NetWare,
Solaris x86, and Linux on IA32, AMD64,and EM64T based systems.

You will find the firmware and several different tools for installation.

Ok, reading the readme.txt file (inside the EFI folder) i've seen that this version it's also valid for HP-UX IA64 (not only for MSDOS, Windows, etc...)

So this is a new EFI major version and also a new firmware version :

EFI version: 2.05
Firmware: 4.04.04
. I suppose there will be many new funcionalities respect to 1.09 EFI version.

Does anyone have experience about this new version in Itanium systems?

many new functionalities ... I would not expect too much (what do you expect?).

Most changes are related to other new hardware, fixes, other server platforms and OS like windows and linux - most of the functionality comes into play during boot over this HBA only anyway.

Up to now there aren't problems in HP-UX. I was searching for firmware info about this HBA to check if its version was outdated.

This is the info I was looking for. I have check the hable and seen that the firmware version they have is the one they should have.
