Yes, it generally is all that we do. Check the main panel when you browse to the switch, you should see the blade and it should have lights etc.

If you still cant see anything, click on the ADMIN button and find the BLADE tab and make sure the blade has ENABLED checked :)

I have done this in our Datacenter.

Just plug it in and put the screws on. It will work fine. The control information is in the CP and this will auto-detect the new blade.
