Adding an extra disk enclosure to an EVA4400 ? !
Hi,
I have 1 EVA4400 at site A and another one at site B. Site A which is the main site is growing so much in term of data volume that I must find a short term solution immediately by removing one of the 3 disks enclosures out of the EVA4400 from site B (DR Site) to add it to the EVA4400 siteA.
Is it a feasible solution ?
Can I achieve my goal with that solution?
Thanks,
Yaboto

Re: Adding an extra disk enclosure to an EVA4400 ? !
The real question you need to ask is if 2 disk shelves will support what you need at Site B...
How many disks are at Site B? How much space is allocated? Size of disks?
Is Site B strictly DR? or do you have regular data access there?
You can certainly move shelves around, it is doable. Are you willing to move disks around at Site B one at a time?
If Site B is easily/readily re-configurable, then absolutely you can take a shelf.
One of the things one of my customers has done for a "quick fix" is buy refurbished shelves. They cost less, and only carry a limited base warranty, but they can be put under your regular support contract that covers the rest of the EVA components.
One thing you will need to take into consideration is your licensing. Do you have an unlimited CV license?

Hi,
Yes this should work without any issues.
You can refer the document link for installation instructions

Thanks for your reply !
Do we need to reformat the EVA4400 main site (A) after adding the disk enclosure ?
