Re: Adding disk in real time

If you have HP EVA array, the answer is YES. Which model of HP EVA do you have?

Re: Adding disk in real time

Do you want to add a physical disk or a vdisk?

Hope this helps!

Re: Adding disk in real time

You can do this at any time. Just use CV to create the vdisk, select size and RAID level.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: Adding disk in real time

Adding vdisk is an online operation and can be done during bussiness hours.

What about present new Vdisk to servers which they have replication 2 Vdisks ? Is there any exceptions of adding Vdisk in business hours !

Re: Adding disk in real time

VDisks can be presented and many operating systems can even pick up the new disks without a reboot.

Creating a new Data Replication Group with a new VDisk or adding a VDisk to an existing DRG can be done online, too.
Just be careful that on a recent system, a new DRG will implicitly create a 100GB write history log (WHL) - that is an internal VRAID-1 VDisk, so it will use 200GB of raw space.
