Attaching new server to an EVA4400

Guys, we have an existing EVA4400 with 2 switches and 4 servers attached to it.
Now I need to attach an additional server.
Ive heard that the switch ports need to be activated before I can attach. I know i need to implement zoning but this activation they mentioned needs some codes which involves $.
if it does, how will i know how many ports are licensed?
Please enlighten.

Re: Attaching new server to an EVA4400

The switch has an output like this:
Ports 8-14 have no SFP on it and obviously not connected to any host. Is the No Pod license means its not licensed and i need to purchase a license?

Re: Attaching new server to an EVA4400

It looks pretty clear that you have licenses for 8 ports (0-7) There is one port that shows no light. If nothing is connected to that port, you could use that port for the new server. perhaps there is also a free port on the second switch that can be as well.

All the ports listed as NO POD LICENSE will need a license to enable them which as you say will cost money.
