hi team
i have c7000 where i have installed in switch bay 5 and 6 Brocade 4Gb SAN Switch 4/24 Switch.
1) from the onboard administrator when i select the server i can see the wwwn of the card installed in the server
2) when i select the brocade switch from the onboard administrator and i select port mapping i see that the servers are connected to the switch
my problem is
when i open the management console of the switch i don't see any world wide name like there is no connection to the switch.
note: there is no operating system installed on the server.
isn't that not normal?

Solution
If there is no OS installed, there is no driver running and no reason for the card to log into the fabric (switch).
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: Brocade 4Gb SAN Switch 4/24 Switch
If you still want to see the WWN of HBA in switch, then power on the server and just go into the HBA BIOS and stay there...
Then check on switch side, it should show the WWN now.
But if you come out from BIOS and let the server go then no way you can see it, until OS is installed.
