Brocade DCX-4S web administration tool pw change

A seemingly odd problem:

I am unable to log into either of our Brocade DCX-4S Directors (DC04) through the web administration tool. The correct credentials no longer work -- out of the blue.

Why is it odd? This affects two DC04 switches on alternate fabrics, and I can logon with the same credentials through ssh w/o issue.

FW v6.4.1

Any thoughts as to why this might happen and how to resolve the pw conflict?

I think we had this problem, too. Which was why we are currently staying on FOS 6.3.x
Are you using RADIUS authentication?

It looks like this could have been fixed in FOS 6.4.1b (released last week). I found this in the release notes describing what defects were fixed:
Defect ID: DEFECT000288021
Technical Severity: Medium
Summary: Unable to login to the switch with accounts that are present in the switch database.
Symptom: User unable to launch Web Tools with user account from switch database when user configured LDAP/Radius as primary and switch database as secondary for validation.
Workaround: Use CLI or Use LDAP/Radius account.

Probability: Medium
Found in Release: FOS6.4.0

That certainly looks to be our issue. I will investigate -- we're already planning the fw update.

Maybe the ssh/telnet or serial interface can get you in?

Yes, the fw update did the trick. We were always able to get in through ssh -- which is why the problem seemed so strange. Odd bug in the v6.4.1 code.

Solution was the v6.4.1a fw update

For clarification: after applying v6.4.1a, I no longer am experiencing the issue. However, the reboot of the CP may have resolved the issue (for now). I will monitor and close the thread for now.
