Re: Brocade SAN Switch Configuration backup

I've been using a very simply freeware FTP server for years doing up- and downloads. Good thing is that I don't need to configure anything on the Windows server/ desktop and after I'm done I simply stop the .EXE and the service is no longer offered.

But if the Windows FTP service works for you - hey, that's fine, too!!

Re: Brocade SAN Switch Configuration backup

:)

configupload is the command from the CLI.

Isn't it possible to do this in DCFM? Haven't used DCFM but seems like a nice feature to be able to regularly collect configs instead of manually doing it after doing changes.

Re: Brocade SAN Switch Configuration backup

Configuring FTP in Windows Server and taking config backup is one of the simple way.

I hope there are much more to think about best practice for taking backup.

When ever if we change any Zoning or other configuration on the switch, its good to take the config backup.

Re: Brocade SAN Switch Configuration backup

Shouldn't be so hard.

If you have an FTP-service running, you can write a bat script that via telnet/ssh logs on, runs configupload and puts config on the FTP-server. Maybe you want to put in some kind of renaming as well of the configfile.
