Do i need a license to upgrade CV 6 to CV 7?

Yes, absolutely. CV7 uses the HP passport mechanism for *all* licenses including CV itself - it is no longer a 'paper license'.

You do need new license keys. While there is an 'instant-on/demo license' active immediately after the installation, I **strongly** recommend that you upgrade after you have a key available.

I have seen a case where this process was, erm, 'delayed' and the demo license expired. Then a disk drive failed and he could NOT put the replacement into the disk group!!

Suppose that i purchased the CV 7 license. Do I need another license to upgrade from CV 7 to CV 8?

No.. CV EVA7 will work with CV EVA8 as well.
