Cache Battery System failed but batteries status OK

Hi All,

I have a peculiar problem. My EVA 5000 shows Cache Battery System's Operational State failed, but both battery module's operational state is showing good.

I need to identify which part is faulty here.

First think I would suggest you to restart the CV EVA service and check.

2nd think it seems to be one of the battery module may failed.

This is EVA5000 design architecture that if one battery module failed we have to replace both the battery modules for the same controller.

Can you please share the EVA controller event logs and configuration log?

Hi, we have lots of EVAs in all versions and I can't say the need to replace a good battery has ever arisen. What controller firmware and Command Version are you using? Also do either of the batteries have fault indicators lit on them?

After I reseated both the batteries, they now are showing status failed. Both battery LED are also amber.

The "failed" status can often copy into the second battery.
That's why both get replaced.

OK, I have replaced both the batteries now. Both are still showing failed. Should the controller be replaced now?

Can you please share the Controller Event Log and Configuration log after the replacement of the batteries?

I think you may have to go for the controller replacement.

I´ve this problem many times.Try to replace more two new batteries and restart the controller(s), if it doesnt work , try to see if any of old batteries have acid in contacts, if it have, then the battery backplane in controller are dead (you must open controller and try to clean all contacts inside. If nothing result, then you must replace de controller
