Can you cable a Single-controller MSA2012fc to two SAN switches?

I'm at a site which has two MSA2012fc's, each with a single controller & connected to a different switch/fabric (i.e. MSA1 -> SAN Switch 1 & MSA2 -> SAN Switch 2).

Can the second FC port (in the single controller) be connected to the other switch/fabric for resiliency or is that only supported with two controllers?

The cabling guide only describes supported configs with dual controllers & dual domains so I'm guessing it isn't supported but wanted to make sure.

Usually the cabling is done so that each controller is connected to both fabrics; I don't see why that wouldn't be supported with only one controller.

Maybe it's done the way it it because some hosts are only on one fabric?

Hi Pjapk,

Yes you can use the second FC port to connect on other SAN Switch.
